Gibraltar Rock Run Live Coverage

Henry Cavill is joined by his brother Nik (a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Marines) and his trainer Michael Blevins for the 350th anniversary run, which sees sponsored participants undertake an exhausting five kilometre uphill climb in support of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.

9:40 Excitement building at Casemate Square as we get closer to the start of the race! The Gibraltar Rock Race is renowned through the Royal Navy with every ship/unit visiting Gibraltar taking part in the race. The route consists 4.3 km comprising some 1,300 feet of climbing up narrow tarmac roads.


9:45 Henry, Nik and Michael are getting ready for the start. Henry, as well as the other runners, is sporting the fundraising initiative’s luminous yellow T-shirt and black shorts. The race is beginning soon!


9:55 Henry is in a good mood today!


10:30 The Royal Marine Scotland Band led the march from Casemates through Main Street to the start line, leading the runners and walkers. The crowds were out in force and applauded all the way through Main Street as the proud men and women marched to the start line. The Race was started by triple amputee Mark Ormrod former Royal Marine Commando.

11:40 The Gibraltar Rock Run has finished. Henry takes 32 minutes and 44 seconds to complete the run. Henry, Michael and Nik have made it back down to Casemate Square.

After the Run, Henry said: "I am really proud to be a part of the event today and to support the Royal Marines – they are obviously close to my heart with my brother Nik. He let me beat him today – I think he was being kind though."
