Interviews with Authors
We recently chatted with author Agatha Rae about her novel, Oenone. We first discovered her on twitter commenting on our discussions about Henry Cavill. She mentioned that he was her inspiration for writing her first novel. Several authors have had Henry in mind as the inspiration behind their book protagonist, but no one else had mentioned that his work ethics and drive inspired them. Agatha’s writing of her first novel coincided with Henry being named to star in the next Superman movie. His drive to be the best, to work hard to achieve what you want and to never give up was the motivation she used to complete Oenone.
REAL… A fallen boxer… A woman with a broken dream… A competition… With an introduction like that, I knew I had to read the book by Katy Evans. Remington ‘Remy’ Tate is the star fighter in an underground boxing circuit. He’s ripped, powerful, handsome and seductive. He wins in the ring night after night. Every woman wants him… and then, he meets Brooke Dumas, a woman guarding her own losses. This wonderfully written story will have you glued to its pages while at the same time tearing your heart in pieces. When we found out Katy Evans was releasing REAL through Gallery books, we couldn’t wait to talk with her about her book, her writing style, her characters and of course, her impression of Henry Cavill.
Last winter, the same fabulous friend who has introduced me to so many of the other authors I’ve had the chance to interview, asked me if I had read the Dream Man series by Kristen Ashley. I had never heard of Kristen or her books, but the title of the series alone had me wanting to read it. She sent me the first one-Mystery Man and that started my journey. Since that first book, I’ve read 5 of her series and 22 of her books. Today, she releases the final book in her Rock Chick series, Rock Chick Revolution.
There’s nothing better on a hot summer day, then sitting poolside with a cool drink and reading a sexy, steamy, fun book. And fortunately for us, we have found the perfect summer read. The fabulous authors Christina Lauren have come out with their novella, Beautiful Bitch; which follows Bennett and Chloe from Beautiful Bastard to a romantic villa in France. If you haven’t read Beautiful Bastard and Beautiful Stranger, then we urge you to read our interviews with the authors, get the books and start your summer reading adventure. Many of the readers have identified Henry Cavill as the perfect book boyfriend for not only Bennett in BB, but Max in BS. We love to indulge our minds with images of Henry as both!
A couple of months ago, we had the opportunity to interview the dynamic duo Christina Lauren when they released their debut novel, Beautiful Bastard. The book was a huge success becoming a best seller on both the NY Times and USA Today lists. If you missed our first interview, you can read it here. Thankfully for their readers, the authors have written a second book in the series, Beautiful Stranger… and film rights to the entire series have been picked up by Constantin Film. We followed up with the authors to ask about them about their new book, Henry Cavill casting, and what’s ahead in the Beautiful series.
Sylvia Day is an international bestselling author. She has topped the New York Times best sellers list. Her books have been translated into thirty nine languages. They have also taken the #1 spot in eleven countries. Last year, her two novels, Bared to You and Reflected in You were among the top ten bestselling books of 2012 on both Amazon and iTunes.
One of the things I love about Twitter is the discovery of fabulous authors and their new books. A few months ago, I noticed a lot of chatter about the author Alice Clayton and her book Wallbanger. After following Alice for a week or so, I knew with her fabulous quick wit and sense of adventure, I had to buy her book. I read it in two days and I found myself either laughing or swooning as I poured through the pages. The main character, Simon immediately made me think of Henry Cavill. Charming, tall, dark hair, adventurous and handsome… Alice was recently signed with Simon & Schuster and will be releasing Wallbanger and the Red Head series through their publishing house. I interviewed her about her writing, her inspiration, and of course… Henry Cavill.
Twitter is a great place to discover interesting and wise people, but it’s also a fabulous place to find funny people. Debra Anastasia is all three. I started following her on Twitter, when someone retweeted her hilarious tweet and I had to read more. Months after I started following her, I downloaded her book, Poughkeepsie. Few books have touched my heart the way this book did. I wasn’t sure what I’d think of the main character, Blake being homeless, but one chapter into it, he had won my heart. After I read Poughkeepsie, I decided I’d try her Seraphim Books — Crushed Seraphim followed by Bittersweet Seraphim. It was the first time I’d read a book about a fallen angel and her complicated relationship with the devil and other out of this world characters. As I read the book, I couldn’t help, but have a huge crush on the hot,…
A couple of years ago, a friend of mine who knew I was looking for something fun and erotic to read, recommended a fan fiction called, ‘The Office’. It captivated me from the first chapter. I’d stay up half the night desperate to find out how the romance of the two main characters would play out. The exciting news is that story is now out in print as the Beautiful Bastard.
Two years ago, a good friend of mine introduced me to the novel, Gabriel’s Inferno. It was originally written as a fan fiction, but it has since been updated and published. The book is set at the university in Toronto. The love affair between the brilliant, handsome, yet dark Professor Gabriel Emerson and his sweet, innocent student, Julia Mitchell held my attention from beginning to end. I finished reading the novel on a plane headed to Toronto. During my visit there, we had fun doing the Gabriel’s Inferno tour to see all the different sites. The sequel to Gabriel’s Inferno is Gabriel's Rapture, an equally compelling and captivating story. Its author is now hard at work on continuing the story of Julia and the handsome Professor. We recently caught up with the charming author, Sylvain Reynard and gained insight into both his writing process and his novels.
*This interview by Jen Freligh originally appeared on Pattinson Post on October 12, 2011 here. Author E.L. James was doing a blog tour promoting the second book in the series, Fifty Shades Darker. It’s no secret that I not only enjoy E.L. James writing, but have great respect and admiration for her as well. I was thrilled to be a part of the Fifty Shades Tribute in May when we celebrated the news that her book would be published. I was equally excited to have the opportunity to interview her and to also be able to share questions from some of our followers. You’ll see their questions with their twitter names after the question. If you haven’t yet, read the “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Fifty Shades Darker” – I urge you to do so. The ongoing story of Christian and Anastasia’s relationship and all of its complexities will hold…
