For a few weeks now, a photo of what appeared to be some sort of mold of the Man of Steel costume has been floating around the internet, causing much speculation over whether it was a legitimate photo and also if it was a peek at the new "tweaked" Super Suit.
New photos have emerged from the set of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which show a giant statue of the Man of Steel in front of a green screen. The previously mentioned "mold" can be seen as the middle part of a statue at least fifteen feet tall, proving the mold as legitimate and also confirming what it is.
These photos were taken by Michigan native Bananadoc, who has also taken photos of a nearby set which is reportedly standing in as LexCorp. According to Batman News, scenes will be filmed there on June 12 and 13 with the potential for Lex Luthor himself, Jesse Eisenberg to be on set.
The principal actors are in Michigan and were both sighted in recent days, looking very much in shape to portray the titular characters of Superman and Batman. Ben Affleck was seen at a Detroit Tigers baseball game (where they subsequently beat Affleck's hometown team, the Boston Red Sox) and Henry Cavill was seen out with fans over the weekend, sporting t-shirts as the summer weather heats up in Detroit .
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, all returning from Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.
The film is written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
Principal photography will take place on location at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and the South Pacific.
Set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.
