One side of the new coin is white and features Superman S-shield, while the other side is black with the new Batman emblem. The signatures on the both sides state the filming period: "May 19th to December 4th 2014".
"During [the Man of Steel] shooting I discovered that the US military have a series of coins to commemorate each department and individual force within the military so I thought, considering the epic journey we all went through on such an iconic project, it only fair that we have our own coin too!" Henry says. "This is just a little souvenir to keep and remember the satisfyingly hard work and the good times from start to finish."
Back in 2012, Lisa Twight, the wife of Mark Twight (the founder of Gym Jones and Henry's personal trainer) shared her excitment about Man of Steel Commemorative Coin in Twitter: "It's good to know that there are a few of "the good guys" in Hollywood. Thank you, Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder!"
Then, after the filming of Guy Ritchie's The Man from U.N.C.L.E. movie, two crew members shared photos of a similar coin they received from Henry.
"It is fast becoming a tradition of mine to create a challenge coin for each story I have the pleasure of being a part of," Henry said in his message attached to the coin. "This is intended to remind us, as a combined cast and crew, of the good times and the tough times on a job and hopefully laugh about all of them in the rosy tint of memories. It's also a way of saying thank you to all of you in particular for making the Man from U.N.C.L.E. shoot so enjoyable."
Commemorative coins is a small souvenir that makes a big deal — through such things ordinary crew members feel the gratitude of the Hollywood star.
