10 Apr Superman Set Visit from 2011
Back in August, 2011, when Superman: The Man of Steel was filming in Plano, Illinois (AKA Smallville, Kansas), two fans got the chance to hang out during filming and snap a few shots of the sets and document their encounter with Henry Cavill, the Man of Steel himself. For Jim Minteer, it was a six hour drive to the set. For Deanna Tickle, her husband and her little boy, it was a short drive from nearby Naperville, Illinois. What follows are some excerpts from Jim’s story (which also includes Deanna’s story) as well as a selection of some photos from their trips.

Henry Cavill does not believe in taking things slow when it comes to pursuing his career in acting. The Man of Steel star has a go big or go home attitude which helped him shoot for some high profile roles in Hollywood. Revealing in an interview recently posted by Voices From Krypton (which is actually an audio podcast for the interview we already posted last September) that he prefers to "aim high." This mentality may be the reason he went from being dubbed "The Unluckiest Man in Hollywood" to "Breakout Star of 2013" and even more reason why he would be up for taking on the role of Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades movies.

Not only must it rebuild the Kryptonian as a blockbuster proposition — it also needs to be the staging post for a new cinematic universe, the foundation for DC’s retaliation against Marvel’s decade of screen supremacy.
